Chercheur au Laboratoire d\u2019informatique de Grenoble (LIG)<\/a> et professeur \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Grenoble Alpes (UGA)<\/a>, Didier Schwab<\/a> explore les multiples facettes du traitement automatique des langues et de l\u2019intelligence artificielle. Il est \u00e9galement le titulaire de la Chaire AugmentIA<\/a> port\u00e9e par la Grenoble INP Foundation<\/a> gr\u00e2ce au m\u00e9c\u00e9nat du Artelia Group<\/a>. Ce projet ambitieux lie innovation technologique et r\u00e9flexion \u00e9thique, visant \u00e0 faire avancer l’ing\u00e9nierie augment\u00e9e au service de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et des entreprises. <\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

C\u2019est \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montpellier 2<\/a><\/strong> que Didier Schwab<\/a><\/strong> entame son voyage dans le monde du traitement des langues naturelles, avec une th\u00e8se soutenue en 2005 sur ce qu\u2019on appellera bien plus tard des mod\u00e8les de langue (connus aujourd\u2019hui gr\u00e2ce aux BERT et aux GPT). Apr\u00e8s son doctorat, il s\u2019envole pour la Malaisie, o\u00f9 il rejoint l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Penang en tant que post-doctorant. C\u2019est l\u00e0 qu\u2019il commence \u00e0 explorer des applications multilingues telles que la traduction automatique, un domaine qui deviendra l\u2019un de ses axes de recherche majeurs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

En 2007, il s\u2019installe \u00e0 Grenoble et int\u00e8gre le LIG<\/a><\/strong>. Ses recherches, toujours en exploitant les grands mod\u00e8les de langue, se d\u00e9clinent dans des projets concrets, allant de la d\u00e9tection de plagiat multilingue, en collaboration avec la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Compilatio<\/a><\/strong>, \u00e0 des applications m\u00e9dicales destin\u00e9es \u00e0 estimer les trajectoires de patients en analysant des comptes rendus m\u00e9dicaux pour SOS M\u00e9decins<\/a><\/strong>. Plus r\u00e9cemment, il a travaill\u00e9 avec META<\/a><\/strong> sur des syst\u00e8mes de traduction orale vers l\u2019\u00e9crit en plusieurs langues.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

En tant que titulaire de la Chaire AugmentIA<\/a><\/strong>, Didier Schwab<\/a><\/strong> s\u2019attelle \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 des enjeux cruciaux : sp\u00e9cialisation des mod\u00e8les de langage pour les besoins industriels, optimisation des ressources computationnelles pour r\u00e9duire l\u2019impact environnemental, et \u00e9valuation des productions g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par ces syst\u00e8mes. La chaire, fruit d\u2019un partenariat entre la Grenoble INP Foundation<\/a><\/strong> and Artelia Group<\/a><\/strong>, illustre parfaitement sa vision : une IA qui assiste et amplifie les capacit\u00e9s humaines, plut\u00f4t que de les remplacer.<\/p>

Parall\u00e8lement \u00e0 ses travaux de recherche, Didier Schwab transmet son expertise \u00e0 l\u2019UGA<\/a><\/strong> et \u00e0 l\u2019Ensimag<\/a><\/strong>, o\u00f9 il enseigne les modules de traitement des langues dans des parcours vari\u00e9s, de la finance au master de recherche MOSIG. Il s\u2019investit \u00e9galement dans la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un MOOC consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019intelligence artificielle g\u00e9n\u00e9rative, destin\u00e9 \u00e0 un large public, afin d\u2019expliquer les enjeux \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques, \u00e9thiques et soci\u00e9taux de cette technologie.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
