The widespread electrification of everyday uses, the development of renewable energies, the rise of electric mobility, and environmental challenges are driving profound changes in these essential infrastructures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first MOOC dedicated to smart grids was coordinated in 2016 by Florent Cadoux, then chair holder, with the aim of enabling a wide audience to better understand the challenges of energy transition from the perspective of electrical networks. Between 2017 and 2022, five editions brought together several thousand learners, with active participation in the discussion forum enabling regular interaction between participants and the teaching team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faced with rapidly changing energy issues and the growing electrification of uses, the team undertook a complete overhaul of the content to incorporate the new technological, environmental, and societal challenges facing electrical networks. This initiative led to the creation of a new version of the MOOC in 2026, now entitled \u201cElectric Networks: Challenges &amp; Transition,\u201d offering updated content, new topics, and enhanced educational activities to provide learners with a closer look at the current realities of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project objective<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This MOOC aims to enable as many people as possible to understand the central role of electricity grids in the energy transition and to grasp the changes currently underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has several objectives:<br>\u2013 explain the technical and organizational fundamentals of electrical networks,<br>\u2013 shed light on the challenges associated with the electrification of uses,<br>\u2013 present emerging technological and organizational solutions,<br>\u2013 integrate environmental and societal issues,<br>\u2013 give learners the keys to becoming actors in energy transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Related publication<\/strong> : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a
