Du 28 au 31 octobre, l\u2019\u00e9quipe du projet ExoSPY<\/a>, soutenue par la Grenoble INP Foundation<\/a>, a brillamment repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 Grenoble lors du Concours iGEM<\/a> (International Genetically Engineered Machine), la plus grande comp\u00e9tition internationale de biologie de synth\u00e8se. L\u2019\u00e9quipe interdisciplinaire de 10 \u00e9tudiants, dont 4 issus de Grenoble INP \u2013 Phelma, UGA<\/a>, a d\u00e9croch\u00e9 une m\u00e9daille d\u2019argent pour son projet ambitieux visant \u00e0 r\u00e9volutionner le diagnostic et le traitement du cancer du pancr\u00e9as.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Pour mener \u00e0 bien cette aventure, l\u2019\u00e9quipe a b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 du soutien de la Grenoble INP Foundation<\/a><\/strong> \u00e0 travers une subvention et la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une cagnotte de crowdfunding qui a mobilis\u00e9 plus de 3 300 \u20ac. Ce soutien a permis de financer en partie le mat\u00e9riel de laboratoire et les frais d\u2019inscription au concours.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Un concours mondial au service de l\u2019innovation<\/strong><\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 2003 par le MIT<\/a><\/strong> (Massachusetts Institute of Technology de Boston), le concours iGEM<\/a><\/strong> (International Genetically Engineered Machine) rassemble chaque ann\u00e9e des centaines d\u2019\u00e9quipes \u00e9tudiantes issues de 40 pays. Pour cette \u00e9dition 2025, 446 \u00e9quipes et plus de 4 500 participants se sont retrouv\u00e9s au Paris Convention Center pour pr\u00e9senter leurs projets devant un jury international.<\/p>

L\u2019\u00e9quipe grenobloise, compos\u00e9e de 10 \u00e9tudiants issus de Grenoble INP \u2013 Phelma, UGA<\/a><\/strong>, de l\u2019UFR de pharmacie<\/a><\/strong> and BUT M\u00e9tiers du multim\u00e9dia et de l\u2019internet<\/a><\/strong>, a port\u00e9 haut les couleurs de la ville avec son projet ExoSPY<\/a><\/strong> (Exosomes Solution for Pancreatic cancer You need !).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Un d\u00e9fi m\u00e9dical majeur : le cancer du pancr\u00e9as<\/strong><\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t

Avec un taux de survie \u00e0 5 ans inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 10 %, le cancer du pancr\u00e9as reste l\u2019un des plus redoutables et silencieux. Son diagnostic tardif est responsable de plus de 500 000 nouveaux cas par an dans le monde. Face \u00e0 ce constat, ExoSPY<\/a><\/strong> propose une approche \u00ab th\u00e9ranostique \u00bb, combinant diagnostic et traitement dans une seule solution.<\/p>

Le projet repose sur l\u2019utilisation d\u2019exosomes, de petites v\u00e9sicules naturelles produites par les cellules, modifi\u00e9es pour cibler sp\u00e9cifiquement les cellules tumorales pancr\u00e9atiques. Pour le diagnostic, ces exosomes sont charg\u00e9s de particules paramagn\u00e9tiques (gadolinium), permettant une d\u00e9tection pr\u00e9coce par IRM. Pour la th\u00e9rapie, ils contiennent des nanoparticules d\u2019or qui, activ\u00e9es par radioth\u00e9rapie, renforcent l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 du traitement tout en r\u00e9duisant les doses de rayonnement. Cette strat\u00e9gie innovante ouvre la voie \u00e0 une m\u00e9decine plus pr\u00e9cise, efficace et personnalis\u00e9e.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Au-del\u00e0 de la m\u00e9daille, cette exp\u00e9rience a \u00e9t\u00e9 un formidable apprentissage pour l\u2019\u00e9quipe. Les \u00e9tudiants ont men\u00e9 un travail consid\u00e9rable : recherche bibliographique, mod\u00e9lisation informatique, exp\u00e9rimentations en laboratoire et premiers tests d\u2019irradiation \u00e0 l\u2019Institut des neurosciences de Grenoble<\/a><\/strong>. Leur projet, en open science, pourra \u00eatre repris par d\u2019autres chercheurs pour des applications cliniques.<\/p>
