To do this, it is important to understand how these images are perceived by non-specialists (link with cognitive sciences). It carries out initiatives aimed at the general public and runs a number of projects in collaboration with schools of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grenoble INP-UGA<\/a>&nbsp;and laboratories&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gipsa-lab.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gipsa-lab<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inria.fr\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INRIA<\/a>Halfway through the programme, significant progress has been made thanks to a series of innovative projects, all led by committed students and researchers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>EDUCATIONAL AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Student challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Creativity challenge in 2022 at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ense3.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grenoble INP \u2013 Ense\u00b3, UGA<\/a>&nbsp;:&nbsp;<\/strong><em>40 students worked on the theme of \u2018How to democratise infrared\u2019, with the flagship result being an immersive restaurant concept that won the Jury's Grand Prize.<\/em><\/li><li><strong>DataChallenge in 2022 at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/phelma.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grenoble INP \u2013 Phelma, UGA<\/a>&nbsp;:&nbsp;<\/strong>the students explored methods for finding the best representation of 16-bit images.<\/li><li><strong>Escape Game : The Pelican investigation in 2023\/2024 :&nbsp;<\/strong>creation and running of an educational escape game, \u2018L'enqu\u00eate P\u00e9lican\u2019, presented at Tech&amp;Fest 2024. This project, created by students from five different schools (Ensimag, Ense\u00b3, Polytech Grenoble, Phelma, ENSAG) and presented at Tech&amp;Fest 2024, illustrates the fun and innovative use of infrared.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udc49&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/fondation-grenoble-inp.fr\/en\/projet\/escape-game-lenquete-pelican\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find out more about the The Pelican investigation<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Engineering projects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Creation of a mock-up<\/strong>\u00a0of a house to\u00a0<strong>popularise thermography<\/strong>\u00a0with students from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ense3.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grenoble INP \u2013 Ense\u00b3, UGA<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(2023, 2025)<\/li><li><strong>Setting up eye-tracking experiments\u00a0<\/strong>on the perception of infra-red images (link with cognitive sciences) to ensure that new users of infra-red imaging are able to understand the information contained in the images in the best possible way.<\/li><li><strong>Creation of a game based on IR<\/strong> used in an escape game with students from\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/polytech.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polytech Grenoble \u2013 INP, UGA<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(2024, 2025)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Creation of a posture recognition game based on infrared cameras&nbsp;<\/strong>with students from&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ense3.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grenoble INP \u2013 Ense\u00b3, UGA<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;(2024, 2025). This game was integrated into the escape game.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. Popularisation activities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Science festival (2022, 2023) :&nbsp;<\/strong>nearly 200 students discovered the properties of infrared radiation through demonstrations at&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gipsa-lab.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GIPSA-Lab<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Kaleidoscope Week (2024, 2025):&nbsp;<\/strong>An introductory course in infrared technology was given to 60 2nd year students as part of the introductory courses organised by&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.grenoble-inp.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grenoble INP \u2013 UGA<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ADVANCES IN APPLIED RESEARCH<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.
