A survey on grief... perhaps not a subject that is essential to you... but it could help your flatmate, one of your classmates... Experiencing the death of a loved one is part of life... and it is part of being alive to allow yourself to be transformed by this experience. However, when it happens in the middle of your studies, it is not necessarily easy to negotiate this coexistence between your personal life and your academic life... and everyone has their own way of doing so!
There is no doubt that being able to say how many students are affected will help to bring about change at Grenoble INP – UGA. An initial figure, based on observations and research from the Etu'deuil project, estimate the approximate number of students who become orphans during their studies: around 3‰. At Grenoble INP – UGA, around 25 of you will experience the death of a parent during the year.
And if the loved one who passes away is not your relative, that does not mean it is any less impactful...
This survey is conducted by the Etu'deuil project, within the Grenoble INP Foundation. It's anonymous and will close on 30 January. It is open to all students of Grenoble INP – UGA and UGA Doctoral College respond and encourage your classmates to do the same!
