Background and description:
With the 2019 Energy and Climate Law, France has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 (compared to 1990 levels) and to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Meeting this challenge will require, in part, a rethink of digital technology. According to Arcep, digital technology accounts for 2.5% of the national carbon footprint. While this may seem modest, the forecasts should at least give us pause for thought, if not cause for alarm, as they could increase exponentially and reach 6% of national greenhouse gas emissions.
Private and public companies must therefore consider changing their digital practices towards more responsible actions in environmental, economic and social terms. But how can this be done? How can a responsible digital approach be initiated, developed and sustained within a company? The project aims to create a set of cards enabling organisations to build a responsible digital roadmap for the short and medium term.
Objective:
The objective is to develop a short-term action plan and a medium-term action plan for a responsible digital strategy. These two plans will then be transformed into a structured summary with three strategic directions.
This educational game will enable learners to understand what concrete and operational actions a responsible digital strategy might entail, while discussing the various choices available to a company in implementing it.
Expected result:
A card game that can be used directly in Master's and engineering school programmes, as well as in organisations at the level of CSR and Information Systems departments.
